Caring through Crisis: Covid-19 Handbook is a book version of a series of seven factsheets that Carers NSW commissioned me to design, to assist carers through the Covid-19 pandemic with advice and guidance. The factsheets (and handbook) provides specific information for young carers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers, and people who are caring for those who are: elderly; in palliative care; have a mental health illness; or a disability.
As the budget is limited, the illustrations were purchased from istockphoto.com (created by the talented Ekaterina Pushina). I altered the colours in the images to adhere to the Carers NSW colour palette and diversified the skin tones to be more inclusive. I also created new images from the elements of her illustrations when I couldn’t find an appropriate image for the text.
