This project was designed for the Centre for Genetics Education. The CGE is a health agency of the NSW Department of Health that provides information and counselling on genetic testing and genetic conditions, and what treatment options are available.
In 2009 they came to me asking for a new logo and branding for their suite of information booklets, brochures and corporate stationery. At the time they were a very small department of three staff and had no branding at all, so I worked quite closely with the client to develop a logo that they were happy with and then the branding and imagery style that they wanted to present. As the budget was non existent and they had no access to regular professional graphic design services (apart from me and the rest of the design team at the NSW Department of Health) I created Word and Powerpoint templates in the new style so they could do as much of their own materials as possible without assistance.
The little DNA dancing man is one of my favourites of all the logos I’ve designed, and I’m happy to say they are still using him on the CGE website.
